Client: Eagle Design Inc.
Owner: National Cemetery Administration
Project:  Design/Build 3,000 Columbarium Niches

The 10.5-acre Woodlawn National Cemetery located in Elmira, New York is known for containing the graves of confederate soldiers. The Cemetery has been in operation since the Civil War. Woodlawn National Cemetery was closed to new burials until this Columbarium project was completed in 2005. The concept for the design was to create new columbarium walls along the perimeter, which backed-up to residential properties. The five high columbarium wall created a visual and sound barrier for both the cemetery and neighboring residents. The adjacent public Cemetery contains the gravesite of Mark Twain.
