Maple Hill is a historic 36-acre property located off Mill Creek in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, with the ruins of what had been one of the oldest houses in Montgomery County. The land was primarily disturbed woodlands and overgrown meadows, with a small portion remaining for a new house and grounds. A Master Plan was developed to address the natural areas as well as the formal design around the home.
While the new house was under construction, CVDA undertook an extensive program to control the invasive plants that were choking the landscape and reestablish a native forest canopy and healthy, sustainable meadows that were in keeping with the historic landscape. The landscape design was enhanced to accommodate a new entrance drive as well as gardens that include large trees to provide a timeless setting for the new house.
