London Purchase Farm

A historic home in Bucks County dating back to when the land was purchased from William Penn before the family emigrated from England. There is a hedge of forsythia that borders the lane that the family brought with them.

The garden was developed over a period of years for multiple clients. The work included screening and acquisition of adjacent properties, developing a conservation land management plan that included: donating future development rights, removal of invasive plants, restoration of the meadows and active farmland, creation of a farm pond, installing a spring house by the pond, realignment of the driveway, major tree plantings, restoration of the swimming pool, creation of a fenced-in productive vegetable gardens; one for the family and one for a food bank, and the development of period garden rooms with walls and fences around the house.
