Carter van Dyke Associates was contracted by the Hunterdon County Park System to design two rail/trail projects.  The first project consisted of the seven-mile Columbia Trail Greenway which runs north along the Raritan River from the Borough of High Bridge, Hunterdon County New Jersey to the Morris County Line.  The second project was the Landsdown Line Greenway which runs south from the village of Clinton along the Raritan River to Landsdown Road; a distance of 2.5 miles.

The two projects involved conducting bridge inspection surveys that assessed the condition of the existing abandon railroad bridges.  Also, site surveys of drainage structures, trail conditions and roadway crossings were taken.  The collected data was developed into contract drawings composed of plans, details and specifications to construct the improvements.  The project was funded through ISTEA grants and County funds.
