Expansion of the local community, as well as the closing of another local hospital, required Doylestown Hospital to construct a 55,756 square foot addition. The 87.5 million dollar expansion was for a new Emergency Department. The expansion included the purchase of an adjacent seven-acre parcel. The project involved redesigning site circulation, construction of a 490 space parking garage, improvements to existing parking areas, new site signage, wayfinding and landscaping. A section of the Doylestown Bike Hike Trail was also constructed.
