Carter van Dyke Associates was retained by Design Resources Group (DRG) to assist in the preparation of a master plan update for the 234-acre State of New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs Cemetery. A site assessment of the buildings, grounds and utilities was conducted. An analysis of the burial records was undertaken, and the paper burial maps were digitized and imported into the Auto CAD property survey. The burial rate for the cemetery and remaining potential graves was developed. CVDA reviewed ten potential cemetery expansion properties within a twenty-mile radius of the existing cemetery and developed rough conceptual plans for four of the preferred sites. Another aspect of the project was to develop a revised Cemetery Directory sign and a Cemetery section map brochure.
