Clients: Abington Township, Montgomery County, and the Friends of Briar Bush Nature Center
Completion:  2016

In 2015,  CVDA was selected to prepare a master site development plan for this premier nature center.  For over 100 years, the 12.5-acre woodland has been used for nature viewing and environmental education.  It was the hope of founders Florence and Everett Griscom that people of all ages and abilities would have a place to learn from nature.

Funded in part by a PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources grant, the master plan provides a strategy for improving the visibility and accessibility of the entire site.  Improvements are offered for all entrances, parking, visitor drop off, event and program space, nature playscape, habitat and all trails and wayfinding.  Preparation of the plan included extensive public participation: public forums, key person interviews, and two large Charrette Workshops.
