Backyard Oasis

 

For this project located in southeastern Pennsylvania, we began by designing  gardens for the owner shortly after the house was constructed in 2006. As time went on we provided periodic consulting services related to establishment buffer planting and phased garden improvements. The owner asked us to assist in the design of a backyard pool in 2012. During the pandemic in 2021, we were requested to help with a garden office. Shortly after, the owner then decided to finally ask us to design a backyard pool with a garden office. The project was finally completed in 2024.

 

The key to this design is that the pool area fits into the slope of the property and does not block the sunset vistas to the west from the upper terrace. The vantage point from the pool deck also provides a wonderful view. The free flowing, curved stone face retaining walls define the hot tub area and the sitting areas.
